About Khab Confluence
At Khab, the turquoise Spiti river joins the Sutlej as it enters India from Tibet — a dramatic gorge and a must-stop photo point on the way to Nako and Spiti.
The Sutlej (Langchen Khambab) rises near Mansarovar in Tibet and enters India at Shipki La. At Khab it is joined by the Spiti river coming down from Kaza. The bridge and gorge here mark the gateway from Kinnaur into the Spiti route.
Just after Khab, the road climbs the famous Ka-zigzag hairpin bends up towards Nako.
